1 Timothy is a book filled with instructions for Paul’s child in the Faith, Timothy. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Paul wrote 1 Timothy so that Timothy would ” know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, a pillar and buttress of the truth” (1 Tim. 3:15 ESV). 1 Timothy communicates the importance of sound doctrine, godly living, and how the church is supposed to operate.
